Why Us?

Why Us?

There are plenty of distractions nowadays from who we are as people, who we are within community's and as humans. We spend a lot of our day to day distracted by the things that allow our brains to run off into a make believe because its...easier. "Easier" is used a lot, or "convenient", which is something we understand is necessary for people to make any kind of change to their lives.

James, 22, who's in charge of mapping the customer journey and creating that easy-change process studied Sports at City of Glasgow. His passion for sports transpires into his passion for people, and their health. He is able to disguise the nutrients he wants you to gain through your breakfasts and spends time finding a balance between Good Taste and Planet Consciousness. James later finished his learnings at Strathclyde Business School which has helped him put his knowledge in sports & nutrition and really focus on how we as a company deliver affordable, easy to access food options for our community.

We set up as a family business, who have lived in the area for over the last 20 years and over the duration of us living here we learned a lot about the unequal chances or opportunity's given to a large population of the Town and similar rural areas. Some would say setting up a store like ours in a place like Cumnock would be "Crazy", "Bonkers", "Brave" (actual responses we have had)... and quite frankly they are right. It has been stressful and extremely tiring, everybody within our business has 100% questioned 'why are we doing this?' and it's at these times we rely on our goals as motivation for why we do this- and we will persist!

We are small but it doesn't take all that much momentum to make a change in a small Community. The more we are supported by our customers the more we give back and thats our end goal!

We source local; we spend locally; we partake in local events; we join local meetings and discussions around pushing the areas development, with a mindset on whats right, not just whats profitable. Granted its not all sunshine and rainbows, yet, but if its going to take a joint force of champions & local business' to be heard then we want to be a part of it all.

How to support us? Make small changes in some of your weekly shopping items with us. Use our takeaway where we are encouraging healthy 'TASTY' habits, share our posts on your socials and spread the word of what we want to achieve for the area every small interaction makes all the difference!
